we participated in the 16th annual *girls for the cure* walk in montreal today.
the 6 independent girls’ schools ( villa maria, miss edgar’s and miss cramps, queen of angels, the study, sacred heart and trafalgar ) have been walking and raising money for women’s cancers for 16 years. over a million dollars has been raised in that time.
today, the villa raised over 44,000$, with all 6 schools raising over 110,000$ for the event:).
obviously, this year had a deeper meaning for holly and i, but what a fabulous event for everyone involved.
the monies raised go to st. mary’s hospital, which in turn directs it where needed for women’s cancers.
they have even established a scholarship for girls, rewarding philanthropic teens with big ideas and big hearts.
and the first photo?
this is part of miss h’s new class of friends…there were some lost souls on another bus who missed the jump shot…that’s okay. there will likely be more…
great group of girls
a sea of yellow tees, dancing girls and positivity atop mont royal.
it was something special.
