This is just a quick note about the upset going on right now over Amazon.com’s decision to sell a download for the Kindle that is truth a guide for ped*philes.
The details can be found all over facebook and twitter and I am sure in a million other spots. I am not comfortable linking the actual book link to this post…just because.
Just search #amazonfail on twitter or check out my facebook to find the article that can get you there.
Trust me, you do not want to get there.
I wrote an email to amazon.com’s customer service and this is the response I got. Now, in their defense…they responded. Unfortunately, the email is just enough blahblahblah to cover their asses.
It does not change that they are making available a piece of crap that encourages pedophilia.
Claim that you are against censorship all you like amazon.com customer service ( aka legal department???).
So am I. So should everyone be.
We all know what happens when censorship is allowed to take hold.
Making decisions that keep children, potential victims safe, is a moral choice.
And one that amazon.com and kindle and any other large retailer making available this “work” needs to reconsider.
Let this author fund his own publishing, his own distribution.
I have used amazon.com for years to buy gifts for children.
Not any more.
I have a kindle.
My children use it to read books.
Guess what Kindle?
I know victims of sexual abuse.
This book encourages the animals that ruined their lives.
And I choose NOT to support you as a retailer any more because not only do I find this “work”…objectionable as you termed it…
I find you objectionable.
Here is the response I received this afternoon. You decide if it is adequate. It may be legal, but is it right?
And hell, no, it is not customer-centric if you do not listen to your customers.
